I am back for another part. I've been watching a lot of movies recently and just rewatching a lot of shows. These movies and shows teach us so much without us even realizing it. Here are some things that I have learned recently-
(SPOILER ALERT: there might be some spoilers ahead, so if you have not watched the show/ movie you can just skip that part)
1. Stranger things- starring- Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Sadie Sink
Will Byers goes missing one night and the whole town is in search of him. Meanwhile, on the other side, a portal to the upside down is opened and a girl called eleven is found wandering the woods but nobody can figure out who she is and where she came from. They then realize that there is something greater than what meets the eye. You will have to watch the show to find out what lies in the upside-down.
This is my most favourite of all time. The way the show is directed, the cast, the plot- everything is literally perfect. In this show, we learn that- we should look at things from a different perspective. The kids of stranger things had to think differently when they had to face the upside down. From time to time we should too. Strange problems require strange solutions. Sometimes you need to come up with a creative idea to face your problem. We should always be prepared.
"You shouldn't like things because people tell you you're supposed to." — Jonathan
"Mornings are for coffee and contemplation." — Hopper

2. Julie and the Phantoms- starring- Charlie Gillespie, Madison Reyes, Owen Joyner, Jeremy Shada, Jadah Marie
Julie has lost all her love and passion for music after the passing of her mother but when cleaning out her music room in attempts to sell the house, she finds a C.D of Sunset Curve which then channels a band of 3 boys who claim they passed away yesterday before playing their dream concert- the Opium. On searching up Sunset Curve, Julie finds out that they have been dead for longer than they think.. try 25 years!
This is was one of the better shows that I have watched and I really hope it comes back for another season. The plot was so interesting to me and I even loved all the music. The acting is also amazing in this. from this show I learned that inspiration comes in many ways and forms- it could be a band of ghosts or it could simply be a picture or even an object. I've seen someone write a song about a chair. We should never underestimate ourselves. Give everything a chance before you decide to give it up
“About our music…it’s like an energy. It connects us with people. They can feel us when we play. I want that connection with everybody.” -Luke
“I cried in a room for 25 years and I didn’t get a single hug from either of you.”-Alex

3. Sherlock- starring- Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman
It’s a series where Sherlock Holmes solves several mysteries (The hounds of Baskerville. When the police have run out of options they call upon Sherlock and regularly marvel at his intelligence. There is more than meets the eye- Sherlock has an arch-nemesis too
This show was pretty good and the acting was absolutely fantastic, especially Jim Moriarty. I started enjoying the show less towards the end because there was so much build-up but the explanation did not live up to the mystery. From this show, I learned that attention to detail is very important, in everything. I noticed how we usually miss out on so many small details in our daily lives and we do not think. We should start paying more attention to detail, it helps sharpen our mind and our senses
"Dear God, what is it like in your funny little brains? It must be so boring!"- Sherlock
"I will solve your murder but it takes John Watson to save your life."- Sherlock

4. Knight and Day- starring- Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz
June Havens becomes quite friendly with Roy Miller who she meets on an aircraft she took to attend her sister’s wedding but Roy is not who she thinks he is. She goes on a crazy adventure with him as he tries to track down a man regarding something in his possession. It is up to her to decide whether he is the good guy or a traitor. They travel all around the world as Roy is on the run
This was a very enjoyable, action-packed movie. I loved the plot and the cast and I would definitely watch this again. From this movie I learned- sometimes you are due for a crazy adventure. I do not mean like the one from knight and day. You should never talk to strangers but you are overdue to just to get out of your house and break the monotony of your routine and do something different for a change. It will help you to reset your mind, body, and just the way you feel. It might even give you the motivation that you were lacking, who knows?
“I don’t believe in fate. I believe in luck.”- Roy Miller
“Someday. That's a dangerous word. It's really just a code for 'never'.”- Roy Miller

5. Never have I ever- starring- Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Darren Barnet, Lee Rodriguez, Ramona Young
Devi is an Indian-American high school student. This show basically shows us how Devi navigates through her life and figures out the messes that she has made. Not everything is always perfect in the Vishwakumar house-hold
This is a very good show. It shows some part of Indian culture that makes me happy (including Ganesh Chaturthi). From this show, I learned that our mistakes hurt people. We may look at it as a medium to learn something but we also have to clean up the mess we made. Sometimes you need to do it yourself, nobody will be there to hold your hand forever. All our actions have consequences and our mistakes affect someone that we care about. We need to take responsibility for our actions
“Have you considered that falling apart might be the thing to bring your family back together?” –Dr. Ryan

6. One tree hill- starring- Sophia Bush, Chad Michael Murray, Bethany Joy Lenz, James Lafferty, Hilarie Burton
It follows the story of five teenagers in the town of Tree Hill. It starts out as a rivalry between Nathan Scott (captain of the basketball team) and Lucas Scott. Step-brothers. As we progress over the years we follow them and see them grow. There are quite a lot of plot twists over the seasons.
This show is almost as good as stranger things in my opinion. It is somewhat realistic and I absolutely love all the characters, everyone has a different story. Seeing their growth at the end, was absolutely worth it. From this show I learned is that with time, we grow. We grow into the best version of ourselves when we are surrounded by the people we love. Let’s take Nathan Scott as an example- let’s all admit that we did particularly like season 1 Nathan Scott but soon he fell in love with Haley James and she made him the best version of herself and he made her happy. Nathan and Brooke’s character growth basically embodies the lesson I mentioned above
“There’s a day when you realize that you’re not just a survivor, you’re a warrior. You’re tougher than anything life throws your way.” — Brooke Davis
“At this moment there are 6,470,818,671 people in the world. Some are running scared. Some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day. Others are just now facing the truth. Some are evil men, at war with good. And some are good, struggling with evil. Six billion people in the world. Six billion souls. And sometimes — all you need is one.” — Peyton Sawyer
“Give me regret as long as I can keep the good memories too.” — Lucas Scott
“Most people are stronger than they know. They just forget to believe in it sometimes.” — Keith Scott

7. Love hard- starring- Nina Dobrev, Jimmy O. Yang, Darren Barnet
This movie follows Natalie who is out in search of love. She turns to dating apps to help her find love, one day she meets the perfect stranger. They have a phone call and Natalie is convinced that she has found the one. He wishes that she were there were Christmas, she decides to be spontaneous and surprise a total stranger in L.A for Christmas but he is not who she thinks he is.
This was a pretty decent Christmas movie (in my opinion, it was kind of predictable) but it's good if you just want to watch something quick. From this movie, I learned that- be prepared for the unexpected. Natalie goes there thinking she has found the perfect looking guy with the perfect personality but he doesn’t really look how she expected him but she finds the person that her “perfect stranger” was posing as. In the end, she realized that she appreciated someone who knew her better, rather than someone who looked better. To her falling in love with the “perfect-not-so-perfect stranger” was pretty unexpected. Love is like that sometimes, you find it in places you were not even looking.
"That's why social media exists: to either distract people from their own lives, or to show them that things could be, you know, so, so much worse."-Lee
"I've spent my entire life looking for the perfect guy. But there's perfect, and there's perfect for me."- Natalie

8. Only murders in the building- starring- Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez
This show follows three people in the same building- Charles, Oliver, and Mabel who are obsessed with a true-crime podcast but when there is a murder in their own building which was failed to be identified as a murder, three of them come together- their obsession for the true-crime podcast uniting them and try to figure out- who killed Tim Kono?
I absolutely enjoyed this show. It was so much fun to watch and I could not stop watching it once I started. I was not disappointed with the ending. I could have never guessed who the killer was. From this show, I learned that the best friendships are the ones that are unexpected. The entire building was confused to see two old men and one young girl hanging out together and they even started a podcast. It showed the importance of friendship and trust. It took Mabel a long time to trust Charles and Oliver but in the end, it was absolutely worth it
"I realized the beauty of silence. It makes fo beautiful friendships and partnerships."- Teddy Dimas
"Just because you are not locked up in a prison, does not mean you are not in some kind of prison."- Oscar

9. Murder mystery- starring- Jennifer Aniston, Adam Sandler
Audrey and Nick Spitz fly to Europe for their anniversary. Audrey meets a handsome stranger- Charles on the plane who offers them a vacation in his yacht. Nick grudgingly accepts but when they reach the yacht, they realize this was a family vacation and a rich father is about to leave his entire wealth to his girlfriend, or rather he was…
This movie is really well made and I have seen it multiple times. I enjoy it every single time. The plot and the cast were just too good. It's anything revolutionary but it's good. From this movie, I learned that we should value family over money. It’s not always about the money. Money can turn us into monsters. The entire family was killed off, just to inherit the wealth. We should be careful with who we trust and what we do around them. It’s not always about money, we forget that family comes first.
“All women are actresses, dear. I'm just clever enough to get paid for it.”- Grace Ballard
Nick: “What happens in death at the library?”
Audrey: “They die”

10. Chak De! India- starring – Shah Rukh Khan, Vidya Malvade, Shilpa Shukla, Sagarika Ghatge
This movie is about putting together a woman’s hockey team. Kabir Khan had disappeared because of an incident that occurred in the world final. Fast forward a few years, no one was willing to coach the hockey team for women due to lack of faith except Kabir khan. Training is not easy when every girl is each man for their own. The last thing they do is- get along. It is a tough process and Kabir Khan has his work cut out for him.
This is one of my favourite Hindi movies ever. I love watching it multiple times. From this movie, I learned that sometimes you have to be the bigger person. It took almost the entire movie for everyone to get along but in some instances, they realized that you cannot fight fire with fire and sometimes you have to be the bigger person in this situation.
“I can’t hear or see a name of a state, I can only hear the name of one country- INDIA”- Kabir Khan
“You don’t need strength to make a team, you need determination.” – Kabir Khan

I hope you enjoyed this blog. I think this is one of my favourites. More parts to come soon
Thanks for reading,
