Nowadays our priorities are so different from what they used to be. They have changed so much, if I had to sum it up I would say that our priorities have grown, evolved into something much more important, if you asked me a year ago what my priorities are I would have probably said like doing all my work but if you ask me now, I would say myself. Nothing is more important than me.
Sometimes after a hard day when you feel drained and have no motivation, well, don’t sit and start homework. Instead, sit on your bed and do what you love: watch Netflix or pamper yourself in a way you find most appropriate.
Self- care is two types: physical and mental. Now what I want you to do is stop whatever work you’re doing, sit down and just dedicate the rest of your day to yourself. I am providing a few things you can do in order to celebrate yourself and have a ‘glow up’ (which I’m sure is not necessary because you are beautiful just the way you are <3). So here are some tips you can enjoy-
~Physical glow-up~
- Firstly before you start anything, switch off your phone and put it away
- Light a candle, and make your room smell amazing
- Put on a face mask and a hair pack
- Write in your journal, write down your feelings or organize your life
- Take a nice long shower
- Do your skin-care routine
- Workout, might be the hardest but after doing it you feel amazing
- Drink a lot of water and honestly speaking- eat what you feel like eating
- Buy some new clothes (It’s nice to treat yourself once in a while)
- Put on some music and just take a walk
~Mental glow-up~
- Check-in with yourself- the ideal thing to do is to have a self-care day every week or once in two weeks
- Become familiar with your goals and manifest positive things
- Try meditating or listening to calming music
- Spend some time with nature away from people
- Stop comparing yourself to others
- Try writing down what you are grateful for every day
- Try seeing the positive element in everything
- Mental glow ups start with self-love so always love yourself first

Self-care is honestly so important. Sometimes taking a break from work is what you need, you can’t be functioning all the time. Breaks are important and more than that breaks are necessary. So sometimes you just got to sit on your chair and put your legs up on your desk and just vibe or just have a dance party in your room. Remember you> the rest of the world. Put it in writing somewhere- You come first. That is all that matters so don’t stress because you got this.
Hope this gives you an idea of exactly what self-care is. It is good to pamper yourself every now and then. Remember to always take a break and you know sometimes just switch off your phone and maybe go spend some time with your family. So why are you still sitting here?
