Regrets

Do you ever regret something? They say live life with no regrets but we all have regrets. It can be something as small as not trying that food or as big as not trying out for that opportunity. You might have let go of something but it always says with you. Sometimes you let it get to you and sometimes you try not to think about it.

Sometimes do you ever sit in silence and realize that everything you ran away from, never really left you? It's normal to live with your regrets. Some advice I could offer is that instead of regretting what you did and thinking about everything you did wrong and everything that went wrong think about even the tiniest thing that went right. I believe that everything in this universe happens for a reason. I never look at a situation as a coincidence, I look at it as a sign from the universe. Maybe you were just not meant to do something even though you thought that it was your forever and that’s okay. One thing I will say is that if you are good at something do not give up on it!

Let’s be real sometimes you let your regrets get to you, it happens to everyone. You just have to accept the fact that some things are temporary. If you love what you do, never let it go. I cannot express how important it is that you don’t let your regrets get you

I asked around about some of the things my friends regret and I asked them for some advice about letting their regrets go and here are some of the responses.

· One response was my favorite. She talked about regretting her words and not actions. See, you have to remember that your words can set fires or build houses. Your words are like bullets that can shoot people down. Remember, think before you speak. You will end up regretting your words for the rest of your life. The guilt will be with you forever

· Another response was about letting something go. It was about something that she became very good at but then she just let it go and that stayed with her forever. She thought that it would be her thing, maybe it wasn’t right for her, maybe she should have never let it go. It’s a question which will make you ponder forever

· I got many responses saying that they regret making their friends feel bad because sometimes you get caught up in the moment and say things you don’t even mean to and even if the person you hurt forgives you, you will always feel kinda bad about hurting them

· You can also regret becoming friends with someone, you thought you both would grow old together, you regret putting your trust in them, you regret sharing how you feel with them. You regret ever loving them or sometimes, overloving them.

Those are some of the responses I received. It is always good to get different perspectives. Everyone thinks so differently

Let's talk about how to overcome the feeling of guilt caused by regrets. The one thing I know for sure is time heals everything, it's not just a saying. It is the truth. As time goes on you become more and more comfortable with yourself and you are able to forgive yourself for hurting someone or letting your forever go. A piece of advice is that the best you can do for yourself is to grow into a better person than you were before. You will become more accepting of yourself trust me, all in time.

Question: What is your biggest regret in life?
