Blog, Banter and Big Words

Today is a very special blog because it has been a year since I have started this journey which is crazy to even think about. A whole year of uploading every Wednesday (granted I did take a few breaks) is kind of hard to fathom. Well, I kind of just wants one whole blog post dedicated to my blog.

Why I started a blog?

Well, during the beginning of quarantine I had no idea what to do with my life and I had no idea how long this whole home isolation thing would last. Due, to being at home all the time I would call up my friends and talk with them to pass my time and I realized that there are so many people out there who have to do school online and that they are missing out on many crucial years in their life. you do learn a lot in school but many of the lessons, you take away from experience and since we were all stuck at home we did not have the luxury to grow. I thought, why not start a blog to let people know they are not alone and that there are many people out there who are going through the same things I am. I thought why not share some of the thoughts I have on a platform where other people can access and it and maybe it will get them thinking or even inspire them or educate them.

I learned a lot of things by starting this blog which I think I couldn’t do anywhere else:

1. I have educated myself on many topics:

There are many topics I touched which I touched on in which I had surface-level knowledge but after researching and asking around I have gained a lot more knowledge about certain topics. I’m quite grateful for it and hope to continue learning and educating myself on new topics

2. Learnt the importance of criticism:

Along the way, there’s going to be a lot of people who don’t like your content but that’s fine because everyone had the freedom to their own opinion and then there are some people who have actual criticism and instead of taking that to heart or letting that bring you down. Think of it as advice and take it positively. Use that as motivation to improve your content and take their suggestions. Remember not everyone will always like what you’re doing but don’t let that get to you because if you are passionate about it, nothing can stop you.

3. Put yourself out there:

Well, I am the kind of person to not really put myself out there and stick to the stuff I know and limit myself to my comfort zone but this blog taught me to kind of put myself out there and discover new things and take new paths and try new things. Sometimes putting yourself out there is a beautiful thing to do

4. Inspiration lies everywhere:

You can get inspired by the most random things. My blogs are inspired by the most obscure things. It could be because someone said a sentence to me which inspired a topic or it could be just scrolling through Instagram and seeing a picture. It could even be just an experience or a vague memory. I don’t have just one source of inspiration, to me, inspiration lies all around me, it’s just where I choose to use it from. It’s weird because earlier I thought that everyone has this one source of inspiration for a certain thing like singers had heartbreak, writers had experience and actors had pain but it’s so much more than that

5. You improve with time:

It’s not the only practice that makes perfect, it’s also your mindset. It’s also how much you want to improve yourself. Over time, I like to think that my writing had improved quite a lot because I have grown as a person and with age comes wisdom. After a while, things seem more familiar and you are more comfortable with many things. But also, with time, you kind of lose motivation so keep going because the end result might be the best thing that ever happened to you

6. Always be thankful for your supporters:

They are the ones appreciating your content and giving you suggestions and frankly if you think about it. About half the people in this world would be nowhere without their supporters and fans. Give someone a reason to keep supporting you and keep going. Your supporters will be there through it all.

Many people have asked me about my favourite blog-

To be honest, almost all of them are my favourite because I do not like to put out content that I am not proud of but if I had to narrow them down I would say- the entire quotes series, anxiety, life lessons, 2020, what do I want to be when I grow up, astrology, romanticizing life. I love these because I touched on these topics the best and they all mean a lot to me.

I want to share some of my favourite lines from a few blogs I have written:

“Can you remember who you were before the world told you who you should be?”- Fitting In

“In a few years when they ask you about your life, you should be able to say that you chose this life and you did not settle for it.” – The Future

“After we are born someone decides which religion, culture, nationality we belong to and we spend the rest of our life defending something we did not choose.” – Dear Society

“Remember you are already whole. If you find someone, they don’t complete you, they match you.” – finding yourself

“Who inspires me? Not one person but everyone who has achieved something in life.” – who inspires you?

“We never appreciate something until we lose it.”- 2020

“If someone loves you, no matter what they have to go through, they will do everything in their power to keep you.”- what I learned from movies

“There’s so much to explore out there that you will never learn in a textbook. Education from school does teach you a lot but so does experience and if you don’t go out there to experience things, you will never learn.”- perspective

What is the future of my blog?

I hope I keep doing this for a really long time. Granted, my niche might change because I cannot stay a teenager forever but in the grand scheme of things, I see myself continuing this for a really long time

Thank you to blog, banter, and big words for changing my life and I owe a lot of gratitude to you guys for reading my blogs through it all. Here’s to many more years of blog, banter, and big words!
