Time

I always find time a weird concept. It flies so fast and the next thing you know, the moment you remembered was months ago. Take 2021 for an example, we were all excited for this new and fresh start but half the year is over and I don’t even know where it went. It’s true, “Time and Tide wait for no man.” Just when you feel you have time, you realize that you don’t have enough.

Not enough time- sometimes I feel like I have no time to live my life. I feel like I am wasting my life doing things I don’t love and I don’t have a lot of time before the whole college process begins. Somedays I wonder when I will actually get time to go and just enjoy everything this world has to offer us. I truly believe we will never have enough time to enjoy what we want but that’s the whole point right, to experience a whole lifetime in a limited time. I did some research and I found a few reasons why people feel they don’t have enough time

1. If you do not have many goals: if you don’t have many goals, there isn’t much to achieve so you don’t really have a purpose. With a passion, you feel you have a purpose and you have something to do and something to help you pass your time and you feel like you have wasted your entire life

2. You bit off more than you chew: the opposite of what I've said above. Sometimes when you take on too much work, you spend all your time trying to complete it and when you look back and see, all you see you doing work and you feel you did not have enough time in your life

3. Poor time management: sometimes you have way too much work and you let it pile up, you need to have a good management system in order for you to get that work done. With poor time management, you feel like your whole life is a mess and realize you don’t have much time to get your life together

4. Mindset: this is perhaps the most important reason. Sometimes, you yourself feel that you don’t have adequate time because you want to pursue your passions but also want to do well and have a stable life. don’t spend all your time being negative and go and use your time

Some quotes about not having time:

1. “It’s not about having enough time, it’s about making enough time.”- Rachael Bermingham

2. “There is all the time to do all the nothing we want to do.”- Bill Watterson

3. “Most of us spend time on what’s urgent and not what is important.”- Stephen Covey

4. “Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little.”- Edmund Burke

5. "I'm afraid of time... I mean, I'm afraid of not having enough time. Not enough time to understand people, how they really are, or to be understood myself. I'm afraid of the quick judgments or mistakes everybody makes. You can't fix them without time. I'm afraid of seeing snapshots, not movies." - Ann Brashares

6. “Isn’t it ironic that in our culture, everyone’s biggest complaint is about not having enough time, yet nothing scares us more than the thought of eternity.”- Dennis Miller

7. “The ultimate goal of a more effective and efficient life is to provide you enough time to enjoy some of it.”- Michael LeBoeuf

8. “I get a little stressed even sometimes knowing all the things I want to read, I won’t have enough time in this lifetime. The more you read, the more you realize there are fascinating books to be read and so little time to do so.”- Caroline Dhavernas

9. If you live long enough, you learn time is an illusion created by men who fear death. The clocks and watches are worshipped by those who deny the inevitable. There is power in acknowledging we are not the ones in control- Amber Kize

10. “There really is no time for wallowing in the miseries of life: we don’t have enough time in the world, we have all the world but not enough time.”- Craig Stone

Then there is the whole concept of going back in time when we had simpler times. I generally feel that everything that happened in the past teaches you something or it took place for a reason. We should spend less time pondering about how the times were simpler than and just focus on what’s happening now. Sure, we would all love to go back but maybe we should stop and think about how to make the best of the moments we have now. Don’t grow up and look back on your life through a lens.

Here are some quotes about going back in time:

1. “I want to go back in time, not because I want to change something but experience some moments twice.”- Biman Saha

2. “But the thing is, even if I could go back, I wouldn’t belong there anymore.”- Ccz

3. “Life is a learning experience. All you can do is learn from your mistakes, but you can’t go back in time.”- Amy Dumas

4. But if I could go back in time, I wouldn’t do a single thing differently. What if all those things I did were the things that got me here?”- Cheryl Strayed

5. “A world of "if"s, but it would make no difference. If I could go back in time... but I couldn't. The past was behind me. The best thing now would be to stop looking over my shoulder. It was time to forget the past and look to the present and future." ~-Darren Shan

Well, I want to leave you with one question- what would you do if you had enough time in life? we always complain about how we do not have enough time and rush to finish everything but when provided with what man fears, eternity. What would you like to accomplish?

I think the answer the answer to my question would be, personally, I feel that I would rather have not enough time than all of eternity because spending your life doing work forever sounds scary. What would you do?
